7th-grade students in Mr. Baresel's Financial Literacy class created a budget. They had $5,200 to live off of in a month and needed to write a monthly budget for food, rent, transportation, entertainment, utilities, insurance, phone and savings. The students learned about saving money and how tough it is to make sure that ends meet at the end of the month.

In Mr. Baresel's 6th-grade social studies class, students formed clans of 2-3 members and worked together in a game of chance and choice to see if they could survive the Stone Age and transition into the Iron Age. They needed at least 45 points to survive and...they all did.

Today is IT Professional Day and we are blessed with the best! Mrs. Punkiewicz handles her daily responsibilities with a kind heart and a great sense of humor with staff and students alike. Her classes are built around computer literacy standards and delivered to students in an engaging and creative way. We are very fortunate, thank you Mrs. Punkiewicz for all you do for our school!
The Preschool students listened attentively while Mrs. Zelnio’s 4th graders read books from the How Do Dinosaurs🦕…? collection by Jane Yolen and Mark Teague. Next week, Llama, Llama!📚
There is still plenty of time to make your appointment and help Jordan Catholic School receive a $250 Blood Drive Hosting Grant. In addition to the hosting grant, Jordan receives $1.00 for every donation made. If you aren't able to make an appointment for Monday, October 13th, just make an appointment to donate at one of their donor centers and mention the Jordan/Knights blood drive and your donation will be credited to the total donations for this blood drive.

We are so proud of the hard work and dedication we see from our Jaguars running on the Pioneer Pacer Cross Country team! At the Glenview Invite, our 7th-grade girls team took home 1st place . 🥇 Shout Out to Elsa, Genevieve, & Claire! Our 8th-grade boys also brought home first place 🥇 Shout Out to Finn, Rylan, & Colton! Finn also took 1st place as an individual runner!

Recess just got a whole lot more fun! A big shout-out to Sr. Mary Solanus for joining our 3rd through 5th graders for an epic soccer game. Her teamwork and impressive footwork prove that recess is for everyone! ⚽🥅
It's always a treat to see students get hands-on with science! Jordan Catholic School had a fantastic time exploring the Quad City Botanical Center's Plant Discovery Bus! 🌱

What a great time we had in 4J! They went on a Bible Verse Scavenger Hunt, and the kids did an amazing job. They were given descriptions of different verses. It was a fun and engaging way to practice using our Bibles and learn how to find specific passages. The students were so excited to match each description with the right verse!

To prepare for their 8th grade U.S. Constitution Test the 8th grade students in Mr. Baresel's Social Studies Class took on the rolls of the U.S. government and learned how a bill becomes a law. A student was the president, another the Supreme Court, some Senators and other members of the House of Representatives. The students debated bills, voted and the president either vetoed or signed the bill.

We had a great Kick-off for Daughters of the King, the 5th & 6th devotional group, this morning! 20+ girls gathered to talk about how we can take our ordinary, everyday tasks and use them to show others God's glory. "We do not magnify Him like a microscope, which makes things look bigger then they actually are, but like a telescope, which makes unimaginably great things look more like what they are". Praise Jesus!
Our 7th graders helped our kindergarteners prepare for their MAP tests this week. They helped them sign in, check their headphones, and offered words of encouragement!
