Mr. B keeps his students busy! His 6th-grade social studies class learned & presented about the great, lasting achievements of Ancient Mesopotamia. These achievements included the 60-minute hour, the first recorded laws (the Code of Hammurabi), the sailboat, the first writing system (cuneiform) and the religious ideas of Mesopotamia, including the start of monotheism (belief in one, true God). 💙💛

The 6th-grade students in Mr. B's social studies class learned about the first system of writing-cuneiform-by creating their own cuneiform tablets using the wedge shaped writing of the Ancient Mesopotamians. The 6th graders all agreed that while it was fun to write in clay they will no longer complain about paper and pencil. 📝

Last week, our 7th graders went on a field trip to Nahant Marsh. They were able to participate in a pond study to help identify invertebrate and bugs in the marsh land. They discussed ways to know if a water way is healthy.

Students also had team building activities as well as went in a nature hike to observe and discuss the marsh land and identify plants to stay safe on a hike.

A fun, spirited way to reinforce the commitment to a healthy, drug-free future! We wrapped up our incredible Red Ribbon Week with a fun & energized Red Ribbon Dance! 🎉
It was great seeing all our Jaguars celebrate the commitment to a healthy, drug-free life on the dance floor. Thank you to everyone who participated in our theme days & helped make this year's campaign a success.

CONGRATULATIONS to Jordan 8th-grader, Finn, who took 18th out of 100 of the best 2A athletes who qualified for State in Cross Country! He set a 2 mile time record (11:31.2) and is the highest place finisher for Pioneer Pacer history! Finn was named All State as a Top 25 finisher. We are so proud of him and his hard work! 💙💛

Worms with a View! 🐛🏙️
Art class had a blast reading "I Can Only Draw Worms" by Will Mabbitt, sparking some serious silly creativity! 🤣
Students focused on merging simple drawing with a technical skill: 1-point perspective. They got to draw and color their own unique worms... but the worms had to live on a sidewalk they created using the rules of 1-point perspective! This project was a fun way to learn how to make flat drawings look 3-D and show depth.

Our young artists explored the fascinating world of the pumpkins, learning 5 amazing facts (like, did you know they are technically a fruit?!). They created fantastic pumpkin canvases using bright acrylic paints. 🎃
To give their art a wonderful 3D texture, they added natural elements like twigs and raffia, and finished with a pop of color using fun buttons. A perfect fall mixed-media masterpiece!

🚨 Red Ribbon Week Dance/Social Mixer!
Cap off Red Ribbon Week with a fun social event just for 6th, 7th & 8th graders Friday, October 17th, from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM in the gym and cafeteria.

🎀 As part of our Red Ribbon Week activities, Student Leaders will be selling Candy Grams during all lunches this week Monday - Thursday. They are $1 each and can be sent to any student, teacher, or staff member. Student Leaders will deliver Candy Grams on Friday before dismissal. 🍬🍭

Gracious and loving God, we thank you for the gift of our priests.
Through them, we experience your presence in the sacraments.
Help our priests to be strong in their vocation.
Set their souls on fire with love for your people.
Grant them the wisdom, understanding, and strength they need to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
Inspire them with the vision of your Kingdom.
Give them the words they need to spread the Gospel.
Allow them to experience joy in their ministry.
