Exciting News for 5th Grade: A Grant for Fins and Fun!
We are thrilled to announce that Mrs. Saucedo’s class has been awarded a grant to bring a new, exciting learning experience to our classroom! Thanks to the generous support of Pets in the Classroom, we welcomed a brand-new aquarium and a variety of fish to our 5th grade class!
We believe this aquarium will be a valuable addition to our classroom, fostering curiosity, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of the natural world. We are excited to share this experience with your children and look forward to updating you on our fishy adventures throughout the year!

Third graders had fun practicing the skill of Compare and Contrast by using hula hoops! Students worked together to come up with ideas of what to compare, and then organized their thoughts into a Venn diagram. Then, they had the tricky task of taking their answers and forming sentences using compare and contrast words… Way to go Third Grade!

Catholic Schools Week 2025 is off to a great start at Jordan Catholic School! Today, we celebrated our teachers and staff. Their passion for teaching has ignited a love for learning within our students that will last a lifetime. We thank them for their dedication to our students, our school, and to Catholic education!
Teachers were treated with a traveling coffee cart by Mrs. McLaughlin and an extended lunch to enjoy each other's company. Students were asked to dress up as their teachers, and they definitely understood the assignment!

The 7th grade students in Mr. Baresel's Financial Literacy Class introduced their original invention and business ideas in the Shark Tank. Ideas ranged from Truck Taped Shoes and Stress Away Slime to Desktop Games and more! The students told the judges (the "Sharks") about their ideas, how much money they needed for an investment and what percentage of their company they would give to the Sharks. Our panel of Sharks included Mrs. Carlsten, Mrs. Ridenour, Mrs. Todd, and a slew of savvy 8th graders who each made a shrewd deal to partner with the best student pitches. They learned about public speaking, budgeting, and how to sell a good idea. They had the guts to swim with the sharks. Way to go 7th grade, you were all fantastic!

Mrs. Coleman's preschool class has been learning about creativity, construction, and tools. They learned that tools are instruments used to accomplish a task, that people use tools for work and play, simple machines make work easier, and simple machines can be used for to create art and to have fun.

Ms. McLaughlin's 8th grade science class just wrapped up their Motion and Energy unit. For their end-of-unit project, the students constructed functioning pinball machines!

Mr. Malone's 6th grade class played Ocean Floor Battleship today to discover how sea floors are mapped. Students create different seafloors with features such as continents, continental shelves, mid Ridges and trenches. They discussed how sonar was used in the 1940's to create a map of the ocean floor. The student who was able to create the ocean floor first won!

This year, fifth grade is focusing on being the best version of ourselves. Our goal is to continue to practice kindness and show grace and empathy towards others in 2025!
