Jack H. Achs, Lieutenant Colonel of the U.S. Army, visited the 5th-grade students at Jordan Catholic School to present “Respecting Our Flag.” Students learned about the history of the American flag, what it symbolizes, and even had the opportunity to learn how to properly fold it. It was a meaningful and hands-on experience that helped students gain a deeper appreciation for our nation’s flag and the respect it represents. Thank you Colonel Achs for your service!

Our 6th graders in Mr. Baresel’s class have been traveling across the globe—without even leaving their desks!
To dive deeper into their unit in South Asia, students explored the history and architectural beauty of the Taj Mahal. But they didn't just read about it; they became artists themselves. Using the traditional technique of Indian Batik, students designed and created stunning vibrant representations of this iconic landmark. Batik is an ancient "wax-resist" dyeing technique used to create intricate patterns and designs on fabric (usually cotton or silk).

Huge shoutout to Jordan 8th-grader, Jaxson, for an incredible performance at the Northern Plains Regionals this past weekend! 🤼‍♂️
Jaxson placed high enough to punch his ticket to the 2026 U.S. Marine Corps Junior & 16U Nationals! He’s headed to "Fargo"—the world’s largest wrestling tournament.

The students in Mr. Baresel's 8th-grade History class have been channeling the 1940s! They recently stepped into the shoes of wartime illustrators to create authentic World War II propaganda posters, bringing history to life.
From stirring calls to join the Army, to vibrant tributes encouraging citizens to enter the workforce, these projects capture the spirit of the era. Each poster highlights the determination of the home front as they worked to support the Allies and smash the Axis powers!

The 6th-grade students in Mr. Baresel's social studies class built their own Great Wall of China models to complete their Ancient China Unit. The students used engineering skills and critical thinking to build the longest wall. 🧱

6th grade completed a lab today about the density of water. 🫗

Students compared cold salty water, warm salty water, fresh cold water and fresh hot water. Their goal was to use their knowledge to get the water to layer in the straws. Students developed a plan for the water and tested it..

Our campus is officially ready for spring thanks to the hard work of the Class of 2028. They spent the day spreading fresh mulch across the Jordan Catholic School grounds, and the transformation is incredible! 🌸
While the students took this responsibility seriously, they also made sure to have plenty of fun along the way. We are so proud of their work ethic and school spirit!

Our Jordan students had a profound experience visiting the Man of the Shroud exhibit, currently on display at St. Pius Church!
This wasn’t just a history lesson—it was a deep dive into the intersection of science and spirituality. Our students explored:
Decades of Research: Insights from over 25 years of study by the Center for the Study of the Passion of Christ and the Holy Shroud.
Scientific Discovery: Forensic and historical evidence presented through stunning photography and detailed illustrations.
Expert Analysis: The life’s work of Monsignor Giulio Ricci and a global team of dedicated scientists.

It was an incredible opportunity to reflect on the Passion of Christ through a modern, analytical lens. A huge thank you to St. Pius for hosting this moving exhibit!
