This morning , we joined in the diocesan celebration, marking the 150th Anniversary of the Diocese of Peoria with a special Mass. Students, faculty, and families gathered to honor the rich history of faith and service that has shaped both the diocese and our school community.

Congratulations to 8th grader, Molly, for having an article published recently in the Dispatch! You can find the article here: https://qconline.com/opinion/letters/catholic-schools-education-quad-cities-schools/article_c3084a2b-75a6-5b63-b42c-4bc4f12c24e7.html

Going to a Catholic school can make a difference in your future. The teachers at Catholic schools are always supportive and care about the education and well-being of the students. Whenever kids are struggling, they are there to answer any of their questions. The students at Catholic schools also are always there for each other and have each other's backs especially in their hardest moments. People are supportive of each other and always show empathy. People stand up for others when something is wrong. Parents send their kids to Catholic schools because they get a quality education. We don’t just learn from textbooks, but we also learn the difference between right and wrong. When going to a Catholic school, we also learn about giving back to others and what the meaning of service is. We don’t just help in the school, but also in the community. The most important thing about attending a Catholic school is that you get to learn about God every day and grow in your faith. You learn about all the sacrifices God has made for us and our purpose here on Earth. Every day you are at a Catholic school, God is always with you. There is no other place I would rather go to school because when I walk through the halls, I feel loved and cared for. Going to Catholic Schools will have an impact on you for the rest of your life and will prepare you for the world.

As our priests travel to Peoria for the Diocese of Peoria's 150th Anniversary Opening Mass, please keep them in your prayers.
O Almighty and merciful God, who hast commissioned Thy angels to guide and protect us, command them to be our assiduous companions from our setting out until our return; to clothe us with their invisible protection; to keep from us all danger of collision, of fire, of explosion, of falls and bruises; and, finally, having preserved us from all evil, and especially from sin, to guide us to our heavenly home. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

We believe this aquarium will be a valuable addition to our classroom, fostering curiosity, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of the natural world. We are excited to share this experience with your children and look forward to updating you on our fishy adventures throughout the year!

Third graders had fun practicing the skill of Compare and Contrast by using hula hoops! Students worked together to come up with ideas of what to compare, and then organized their thoughts into a Venn diagram. Then, they had the tricky task of taking their answers and forming sentences using compare and contrast words… Way to go Third Grade!
