August 2026
Dear Jordan Catholic School Families,
We look forward to the first day of school!
A few announcements:
Mikyla James will take on the Athletic Director role at Jordan. We are thrilled she is able to take on this additional duty at Jordan and look forward to a great athletic season under her direction. Her contact information is [email protected]. I have a placement for K-4 Resource and ELL and will announce the details of that new hire in the next newsletter.
I am also eager to share we have increased numbers in preschool, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten this year! This is a great sign that families are hearing all the great things about our school. We are thrilled to increase our focus on Living in Virtue this school year, embracing the gospel of Jesus Christ so our student can go out and live as saints! I heard a phrase recently, "We prepare them for Harvard and Heaven!" This is certainly what we strive to do at Jordan Catholic School.
A couple of reminders to keep in mind prior to the first day of school:
Lunch pricing is updated ($3.35 for lunch and $.50 for milk) and Free and Reduced Lunch forms are available in the main office or on the Jordan website if needed for the 26-27 school year. A reminder that caffeinated beverages are not allowed at any time during the school day. Students may only bring water hydration in a bottled water or reusable tumbler for school lunches and/or for classroom use at the teacher's direction.
Cell phone policies remain the same as last year. Students in elementary grades (through grade 4) are not encouraged to bring a cell phone to school. If they must bring a phone, it shall remain in the turned off mode and kept out of site in their backpack or turned into the main office. Grades 5-8 students are required to turn in their cell phone to their homeroom teacher in a secure pocket storage area where it will remain in the turned off mode until after dismissal. Students are not to access or use their cell phone at any time during school hours and may use the office phone for any urgent matters with their teacher's permission.
Many Blessings,
Kelly McLaughlin
