For March our virtue is temperance. Temperance is the virtue of self-control and balance, helping us make thoughtful choices rather than acting on impulse. It encourages moderation in all things, from our desires and habits to the way we express our emotions. Practicing temperance allows people to enjoy life's pleasures without being overwhelmed by them, and it helps maintain harmony in relationships and communities. By exercising temperance, we build resilience, wisdom, and a sense of inner peace that guides us through challenges and keeps our actions fair and measured.

For example, if your baby brother keeps grabbing your toys or asking for candy, practicing temperance means you stay patient and calm instead of getting frustrated or yelling. You might share a toy or offer a small treat, showing self-control and kindness while keeping things fair. Over time, your baby brother can learn from your example and develop patience too. Practicing temperance in small moments like these helps everyone in the family get along better and feel happier. This is a simple way temperance helps in everyday life.

Temperance isn’t just about controlling our actions. It also helps us make better decisions and treat others with respect. When we practice temperance, we think before we act, avoid overreacting, and find balance in our daily lives. It can be as simple as listening patiently when someone is speaking, waiting your turn, or choosing not to spend all your time on your phone/video games/electronics. By practicing temperance, we build stronger friendships, happier families, and a more peaceful environment for everyone around us.
