About Us

Mission

The mission of Jordan Catholic School is to provide students with a Catholic education resulting in graduates who are followers of Jesus, committed to Gospel values, serving others and the recognition and development of their God given gifts and talents.

Philosophy
At Jordan Catholic every child flourishes in an environment of academic challenge and spiritual growth. JCS challenges students to develop the knowledge, skills, and work habits to succeed. To that end, the entire JCS community is committed to helping each student discover, and realize, his or her potential. It is our goal to give all students the unique opportunity to be educated in a safe, structured, and Faith-based learning environment.

Recognition and Accreditation
Jordan Catholic School is recognized by the State of Illinois and accredited by and the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI). Jordan Catholic School has earned continuing accreditation from NCA CASI, an accreditation division of AdvancED.  To earn accreditation, schools must meet NCA CASI's high standards, be evaluated by a team of professionals from outside the school, and implement a continuous process of school improvement. Accreditation is granted on a five-year term.

History
Jordan Catholic School is proud to be a part of the tradition of Catholic education that has served the Rock Island community for over 130 years. With the completion of two new additions in 2012, Phase 1 of a two-phase capital expansion project, Jordan offers all educational programs, including Special Education, Speech Therapy, and Title I services, under one roof.

Our school is named for the Right Reverend Monsignor T.J. Jordan, a retired pastor served many years in Rock Island parishes and was committed to the growth of Catholic education.
