Preschool
3 year old Preschool and 4 year old Pre-K Program Overview
With a focus on developing the whole child according to individual needs and skill level, Jordan Catholic School provides a safe, inviting, play-based learning environment. Children learn to problem-solve, engage with other children, and work cooperatively through a variety of tactile, interactive, and hands-on learning materials. Age-appropriate activities and projects help to develop each child's fine and gross motor skills, science and math skills, and language and verbal proficiency. The curriculum is divided into themes that incorporate different components of the community, the children's interests, and holidays/seasons. The Preschool and Pre-K curriculum includes Frog Street, an early learning program that builds student literacy and math skills. Our early childhood program also incorporates Music, PE and Art into the curriculum.
Preschool 3 year old classes are taught from 8am - 11am, 3 days (T/W/Th) or 5 days.
PreK 4 year old classes are taught from 8-11am, 5 days.
Jordan offers before care and after care during the school day 8-3pm or all day 6:30am - 5:30pm.
A copy of a child's birth certificate must be presented when registering a child. Children are required by law to have a current physical examination.

3-Year Old Preschool Program
Three year-olds are special! They are transitioning from parallel play to interactive play, and their language capacity is blossoming. They are becoming more mobile and learning to show genuine affection and concern for their peers. Our classroom encourages students during their first preschool year in a positive environment. We also learn with lots of play along with music and motion!
4-Year Old Pre-K Program
Our 4-Year Old PreK uses the Frog Street PreK curriculum that helps integrate weekly themes throughout all academic areas from math to literacy to science & more! This allows us to maintain a hands-on and engaged environment that teaches social skills, fine and gross motor development and foundational literacy and math skills all while having fun and developing a love for learning! Religion Curriculum: Allelu and Cathechesis of the Good Shepherd.
Each class participates in field trips, classroom parties, and major school-wide events!
Kindergarten
Jordan Catholic School provides a faith-filled and challenging learning environment for students in Kindergarten. Students are encouraged to put their faith into action, develop skills for a successful life, and achieve their personal best. Core academics are taught, including and emphasis on basic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. In reading, students are taught phonemic awareness, phonics, and comprehension skills. In mathematics, students work with counting, the concepts of addition, subtraction, patterns, and comparing. Students are also taught music, art, computer technology, field trips and physical education for a whole child experience.
All-Day Kindergarten follows regular school hours of 8 am - 3:05 pm.
Registration, information, and tours are to be requested through the school secretary at (309) 793-7366. The Kindergarten Round-Up is held in April of every year.
Our goal is to provide a balanced program where all children are provided an opportunity to develop at their own rate by observing, doing, discovering, listening, sharing, and creating. Emphasis is placed on understanding what is expected, making choices, and solving problems throughout the school year and accepting responsibility for their actions.
