What is special about what I do? I strive to help my students acquire lifelong learning skills. Children learn in many different styles and come to school with many different experiences. I try to keep my approach flexible, varied, and individual. Helping children to develop self-esteem and also learn to show respect for others is an important part of shaping the whole student. All students have many talents and they can all succeed in school. I try to make learning fun and exciting.
What is special about Jordan? Jordan really has a family atmosphere. Teachers, staff, students, and families truly care about each other and are always there to help when needed. Teaching about God is such a strong foundation on which to build a school. Being able to discuss our religion, ethics, and morality in all subjects is a strong asset we enjoy at Jordan.
What am I most looking forward to this school year? I am most looking forward to getting to know my new class and their families. Every school year is so engaging because each year a unique group of individuals is entrusted to my care. I enjoy bonding with the children, and all of my students become very special to me. I hope to instill a love of learning in my children. I hope to teach them to study, not because they feel they should, but because they want to learn.
Hobbies:
I enjoy reading, skiing, golf, bicycling, travel, and baking. Mostly, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
Reason for joining Jordan?
My relationship with Jordan started when my sons were students here. As a parent volunteer, I was able to see the superior educational environment we have here. I have taught at a public school before, and I find I prefer teaching in a Catholic school so that I can bring God into our daily lives in so many ways.
Little know personal fact?
Students might be surprised to know that I exercise and lift weights daily. My husband got me interested in physical fitness several years ago.
