What is special about what I do? I love teaching English and am looking forward to adding reading and spelling to my class schedule. I enjoy teaching creative writing, poetry, and a unit on writing a research paper. Every year I am amazed at all the differences there are in students’ creative writing; I enjoy learning about them and their interests through their writing.
What is special about Jordan? Jordan Catholic School is special because we offer a challenging curriculum that helps students build their confidence level and develop their leadership qualities to take to the next level of education. I feel students accept one another for who they are and try to include everyone in activities. Parental support at Jordan is awesome; I am fortunate to teach students of parents I taught during my early years at Jordan.
What am I most looking forward to this school year? I always look forward to getting to know all the students, discovering their gifts and abilities, and helping each student to reach his or her goals for the school year.
What do you most enjoy doing away from Jordan?:
Family get togethers, walks, playing with my grandson, visiting my daughter at college, watching my youngest daughter play basketball and softball.
If you were stranded on a desert island, which two books would you most like to have with you?: People magazines, and any books by Danielle Steele or Mary Higgins Clark
Hobbies:
I love to be outside in the warmer weather taking care of my garden, flowers, and yard while also enjoying my new deck and hot tub. Also, playing with my grandson.
Favorite thing about Jordan?
The best part of teaching at Jordan is being with the 7th & 8th graders everyday. I love the way their minds work, their independence, and the “fun” they bring to school each day. They truly keep me feeling young.
Little known personal fact?
I’ve never had a maid or hired anyone to cut our grass. I LOVE to clean and do yard work! They are better than a workout to me and take away ALL of my stress!!
